As I state on my home page, I was a leader in the youth ministry at my church Colonial Hills Baptist Church from 2011-2014. Events in my life took me into a virtual hiatus from involvement with the youth group and the church from around spring 2012-summer 2013.
October 2013, we had a weekend youth event called "Disciple Now" - an annual event done by many churches - at which I befriended one kid in particular who said one simple thing that changed my life and helped me realize what a heart I have for youth and kids, and how I can use my life experience and my plentiful past mistakes to teach these kids and relate to them. I met with our youth pastor at that time about getting involved with the youth again, and told him an idea I had to make video lessons of life experience, and helped me develop the idea.
Thus, 42-Second Sermons were born. Inspired by the short attention spans of Gen Y, millennials, Gen Z, and the Vine phenomenon, I do my best (with some help from the magic of editing) to present solid life advice in a 42 second "sermon".
Enjoy. Make good decisions.
